Overview

Taj Exotica Resort & Spa is surrounded by one of the most beautiful lagoons in the Maldives, a shimmering pure turquoise expanse of water where all kinds of aquatic life including rays, baby sharks and reef fish can be spotted. The island is a long, thin sliver of gleaming white sand with a strip of exotic foliage running through the center. The beach tails off into a picturesque sandbank at the tip. Water villas are strung out over the ocean, accessed by an ellipse-shaped jetty. The cuisine is another of the resort’s highlights, with a wealth of international flavors and fresh seafood on the menu. Glass panels in the floor allow you to observe the underwater world from the comfort of your water villa, while a range of water sports and diving activities are also available, as well as cruises, seaplane photo flights and other day trips.

 

ROOMS

LAGOON VILLAS – (71 square metres) are a series of two adjacent villas on the lagoon along the island. They offer private sun decks with loungers, easy chairs and ladders with direct access leading to the lagoon. Each villa features a double vanity bathroom, rain showers and bath tubs with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.

DELUXE LAGOON VILLAS WITH POOL – (94 square meters) are located at the far end of the island. These elegant stand-alone villas offer complete privacy as they open out to private sundecks with serene sea views and ladders leading into the lagoon, easy chairs and loungers. A double vanity bathroom, rain showers and bathtubs with an infinite view of the Indian Ocean add to the luxury. Deluxe Lagoon villas are furnished with chic, comfortable furniture show casing the styles, textures and natural colours of the local culture. All Deluxe Lagoon Villas feature a private deck with a fresh water plunge pool and an alluring day-bed area with spectacular views.

DELUXE BEACH VILLAS WITH POOL – (89 square meters) are just five metres from the picturesque lagoon. Each of the luxuriously styled villas offers an over-sized plunge pool, a private veranda with sun beds, a tropical outdoor shower in a private walled garden and an infinite view of the lagoon.

PREMIUM DELUXE BEACH VILLAS WITH POOL – (82 square meters with an exclusive 111 square metre private outdoor area), these new villa have their own stretch of beach and a direct access to the lagoon. Each of the luxuriously styled villas offers an over-sized plunge pool, a private veranda with sun beds,a tropical outdoor shower in a private walled garden and an infinite view of the lagoon.

LAGOON SUITES - built over water offers luxury and privacy in its spacious and beautiful interiors. Measuring 195 square meters, this tastefully appointed villa has a living room, a bedroom with attached bathroom,a glassed bathroom with an infinite view of the Indian Ocean, a large freshwater pool with a private sundeck, a ‘sala’ for dining, and a beautiful suspended deck filled with powder soft sand.

BEACH VILLA SUITES - two-bedroom – (365 square meters) are just five meters from the lagoon. Each villa, set on the beach, has a spacious living room, a private court yard, an over sized plunge pool, a private veranda with sun beds and a tropical outdoor shower in a walled garden. The mezzanine bedroom unfolds a beautiful view of one of the most picturesque lagoons in the Maldives. The master bedroom has an over sized attached bathroom and a private balcony that is a perfect spot to enjoy spectacular sunsets. Guests can enjoy Jiva Grande Spa treatments in complete privacy at the spa treatment room attached to the villa.

THE REHENDI PRESIDENTIAL SUITE - The 500 square meters tastefully appointed award winning villa boasts of a living room; a master bedroom with attached his and hers bathrooms, a guest bedroom; a glassed bathroom with an infinite view of the Indian Ocean; a 15 ft fresh water pool with a private sundeck, two ‘salas’ for relaxing and dining; and a beautiful suspended deck filled with powder soft sand and a hammock suspended over the beautiful turquoise lagoon. This Suite comes with a host of extra amenities and services.

24 DEGREES - 24 Degrees, the all-day dining restaurant has a delicious variety of international favorites from Pan-Asian to Continental specialties. Its a la carte menu offers the guests an eclectic journey of flavours including the fresh bounty of the Indian Ocean, spices of India, the Far East and International favorites. Charming and convivial, 24 Degrees has a display kitchen which adds to the informal ambiance. The walk in Wine Cellar at 24 degrees provides the opportunity to step inside and be guided to the perfect accompaniment for the evening. Dine indoors or al fresco on the beach.

EQUATOR BAR - Unwind to soulful music and the rustle of thewind, waves and palms with a choice of innovative and refreshing beverages including sun downers, ice cold margaritas, wine coolers and cocktails. This stylish bar also serves a variety of traditional vintages, New World wines, and cigars.

THE DEEP END - This fine dining restaurant draws its inspirations from progressive world cuisine amalgamated with top ingredients sourced from around the world with a preference for organic, free trade certification and free-range products. The extensive a la carte menu presents a choice of flavorful meats, game and seafood, along with vegetarian specialties,complemented with fine wines from the cellar. The menu also features a choice of desserts and cigars. The restaurant is constructed over water and is partially alfresco for guests to enjoy an almost continuous maritime breeze and the placid waves of the ocean. The experience entails designer life style tabletops. You can also enjoy the offerings of The Deep End while dining at the poolside.  

DIVING & SNORKELING - Dolphin Base Dive and Water sports Centre: The only PADI Eco Aware certified Dive Centre in Maldives. The centre offers various courses for beginners and certified divers by a professional multi-lingual team as well as access to some of the best dive spots in the world.
